After a low back injury in 1980, Lorne was treated with Chiropractic. Not only did the injury resolve but so did his dilemma about a career path. The profession appealed to both his caring nature and his understanding of the body. He finished his second degree at McMaster and found himself at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College by 1982. Upon graduation in 1986, he set up practice in Barrie, first on Sophia St, then Yonge St. In 1992 he started a business covering vacations and leaves at Chiropractic offices around the province. He met and treated thousands of people and saw many different practices. In 2000 he and his wife Debbie started Leacock Family Chiropractic and has been happily practicing there ever since, helping many wonderful patients. Also, at that time, Lorne stared his teaching career, teaching Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology; first at Everest College and now at Georgian College.
Lorne and Debbie have two children; Jeff and Erin. They, along with volunteer and consulting work, keep him busy.
